The first Independent Learning Project (ILP) for Y5&6 is ‘Revolution’, which is learning all about the Victorian Era. In order for the children to experience life as a Victorian, we plan to immerse them in Victorian life through a visit to Beamish Museum on Thursday 4th November.
We will be leaving school at 9:05 and return in the afternoon at 3:25pm. You will need to provide your child with a packed lunch. They can also bring some money, up to £5, which needs to be brought into school in a named envelope, to spend in the gift shop.
In order to make this as realistic as possible, we would like the children to come to school that day dressed as a Victorian child. They will also need a coat, as they will spend most of their time outside and suitable footwear.
We are asking for a contribution of £13 per child. If insufficient contributions are received, the trip may have to be cancelled.
If your child is entitled to free school meals they can request a school packed lunch. Please advise the school office.
The school has a duty to ensure the safety and health of those taking part in or exposed to its activities, so far as it is reasonably practicable to do so, therefore pupils whose behaviour falls below the standard to be reasonably expected, or their conduct compromises the safety and health of the group, individuals or themselves, can expect to be removed from the activity.
